An Act of Kindness That was Shared to Others Because of Love

How many people today suffered from different kinds of diseases? How many of the sick died because the family could not afford for hospitalization? How many children are malnourished and died of sickness because of expensive medicines and medications? How many people went to the hospital waited for so long and nobody will give a time to attend them? Many of them!

Last September 15, 2012, the Canossian Sons of Charity ,lay collaborators and benefactors conducted a medical mission in Talita Kumi , Alfonso Cavite. Through the efforts of Dr. Mario Adraneda and His wife Dra. Flor Adraneda, with his family and the other doctors, more than 300 residents of Barangay Bilog in Alfonso benefitted a free medical checkup, eye checkup, tooth extraction, and free medicines and vitamins for the children.

 It was a rainy day but it was indeed a wonderful day for everyone. The smile on the faces of the children and their parents is a manifestation of true happiness. It is God’s grace as well that there are still some people,  who in spite of their busy schedules, still affords to spend time with the people in need and  attending their concerns with love and care. Not everyone can set aside their personal plans and give time for others without benefits.

This medical mission is an act of kindness that was shared to the poor because of love, a love in action. This activity is evidently showing that people can still do charity. All the love, efforts, time, medicinal needs and services rendered are all worth it. The greatest gift all the beneficiaries received is the love from God who inspired the volunteers to share what they have and to love one another in Christ.
