RioT in Tondo and Rio to Cubao (LWYD celebration)

Last July 28-29, about 300 young people from the Vicariate of Sto. Niño de Tondo, including those who came from San Pablo Apostol Parish, attended the Local celebration of the 28th World Youth Day. St. John Bosco Parish in Tondo hosted the celebration. It was simultaneously celebrated with the International gathering being done at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the presence of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, where about 400,000 registered pilgrims took part.
The celebration also coincides the Launching of the DEEP (Devotion, Evangelization, Emotion and Passion) program of the Vicariate Youth Ministry.

The event, which started on the night of the 28th, was filled with different activities which kept everyone active and awake until the morning of the 29th. A opening liturgy with the enthronement of the cross opened the celebration. It was followed with talks, Taize prayer, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and confession. The beautiful gathering was ended with a Eucharistic Celebration which was presided by Fr. Mark Cerada, SDB, Vicariate Youth Minister with our very own, Fr. Joseph Gatdula, FdCC.
It was truly a blessed night in celebration of the World Youth Day, especially for those wasn’t able to come to Rio for the international event. Everyone left Don Bosco Youth Center, bringing in their hearts their respond to the call of Jesus, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” -GLC
Canossian brothers and youth from Marikina also joined the Rio to Cubao celebrated at the ADMU gym attended by 4,000 youth from different dioceses, Catholic Schools and Universities around Metro Manila.
