Heartfelt Words of a Fourth Year Student during the Vocation Awareness

It was a half-day activity of Vocation Awareness as part of the program for the 4th Year students of St. Joseph School, Gagalangin, Tondo Manila held at St. Magdalene of Canossa Formation House, New Manila, Quezon City. The program was animated by Fr. Ricky Cabugsa, FdCC (Vocation Promoter), Bro. Zaldy Camposo, FdCC and Bro. Allan Dizon, FdCC.

There was an animation song to start the activity. They had a tour to let them see the reality of a religious life from Prayer, Academic, Community and Apostolic Life. They also joined the mid-day prayer and lunch together with the members of the community.

The word “Vocation” was discussed and deepened by Fr. Ricky. He defined it as “a call to live a life of holiness.” That no matter we choose in life we are called to be holy and that being holy is not exclusive for the priestly ordained or religious but for all.

A video was presented to introduce the Congregation of Canossian Sons of Charity. The students were asked to watch and listen carefully and later on answer the question "What strikes you most?"

Here are some words and scenes that strikes them most from the video:

  • Being human is never easy
  •  A smile from the two child living in slum area which symbolizes hope.
  • The action of St. Magdalene of Canossa in helping the people outside the palace.
  • Those people living in Smokey Mountain

These words are deep yet they felt it in their hearts. It was indeed a fruitful activity.
